Australiaʼs most iconic summer event is back next Australia Day, which will see participants once again
attempt to break a new world record of the longest line of Giant Inflatable Havaianas Thongs joined in
the water.

How: For just $30 ($25 if registration is done online at www.havaianasthongchallenge.com.au)
participants will be registered to join in on the fun. As part of the registration, participants receive a Giant
Inflatable Havaianas Thong (valued @ $49.95).

The Hobie Cat National Championships will be hosted by the Sunshine Coast Yacht Club at the Mooloolaba Marina with the sailing races to be held in the bay and ocean east and north east of Mooloolaba Beach.  The event will commence with a New Year's Eve function at The Yacht Club at the Mooloolaba Marina, with registration and briefing on 1st January 2012. The regatta races are scheduled from 2nd January to 6th January 2012.

The Olympic distance Mooloolaba Triathlon is the centrepiece of a 3-day multisport festival that celebrates the best of the Australian summer lifestyle, at one of the world’s premier beachside locations.

On Sunday morning 7,500 individual and team competitors take part in the Mooloolaba Triathlon. The program is packed with all your favourites for 2012; Asics Mooloolaba Twilight 5km Run, Mooloolaba 1km Ocean Swim, The Courier-Mail Mooloolaba Superkidz Triathlon, Mooloolaba Triathlon and Mooloolaba Teams.

A nine day festival of guided walks, competitions, community and cultural events that celebrates the natural beauty of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, healthy activity and showcases local attractions. The festival will run from August 19 - 28 2011 after the official opening and award presentation of the "People on Walks" Sunshine Coast Walks Festival Photographic Competition on Friday evening at Flaxton Gardens 5.30 to 7.30pm 19th August 2011.
 

The 2012 Noosa Jazz Festival, running from 30 August to 2 September 2012 will celebrate 20 years bringing the cream of Australian and international Jazz talent to the beautiful resort town of Noosa Heads, the event now recognized as one of Australia’s most enduring Jazz Festivals.

24-27 Nov: 2011 PGA Championship on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

The Australian PGA Championship will run from 24-27 November 2011. Held annually on the Sunshine Coast at the Hyatt Regency in Coolum this year’s tournament is set to be bigger and better than ever with more international players in the country for November’s Presidents Cup, the subsequent boost in the Championship line-up is expected to make it even more competitive than usual.
