On Tuesday 16th June, Mooloolaba Business & Tourism held our Annual General Meeting at The Surf Club, Mooloolaba. It was a great night, attended by around 40 members and guests.

Outgoing President Gary Rice, summarised the highlights of the last 12 months, which included:

• New Branding creation - Mooloolaba – just come as you are
• New Branding Launch at UWW
• New membership structure – Gold, Silver & Bronze
• New Membership brochure
• New Newsletter shell
• Lobbying for funding – SCRC
• Continued sponsorship support from The Surf Club
• Mooloolaba Service Awards in conjunction with SCD
• Ongoing sponsorship and support for various events in and around Mooloolaba
• Provide members with a voice
• Relationship and partnership building with various entities on the Sunshine Coast
• Hosted networking nights for members
• Continued liaison with CCIQ

Incoming President, Fraser Green, Managing Director - Sundaze, outlined the job for the new committee going forward into 2010. Some of the key issues to be faced over the next 12 months include:

- the ongoing development of the "Mooloolaba - just come as you are" brand
- continuing to try to get recognition from the SCRC for Mooloolaba
- finding out what marketing will be put in place for Mooloolaba and the rest of the central Sunshine Coast in the next 12 months
- working with SCRC to improve the recognition and awareness for the central Sunshine Coast areas
- encouraging members to fly the flag for Mooloolaba Business & Tourism, as it is important for Council to get grass roots feedback
- lobbying for representative funding from the Tourism Levy for Mooloolaba and our neighbours
